I have 3 Vertex servo stabs. being used in 3 of my setups for the past 3-4 years (2kva units). My use is moderate to low maybe an hour a day. Do these units need any periodic service? Also what is their lifespan? If these were to fail would there be any catastrophic consequences on attached equipment?
I have tried conacting vertex but no response on this.
Cheers,
Sid

It doesnt require any periodic service. The wear n tear happens only to the brush which is touching the rotary coil and nothing will happen for atleast 5 years. If there is any MOV used for surge protection then its better replace it once in 2 or 3 years depends on the power fluctuation in your area.

on a totally different note ( not related to audio )

my home has voltage issues which causes the generator MCB to trip tooo often leading us to get up at odd time to oush up the MCB...
one solution would be to put a stabiizer for the whole house... Any recommendations what to get.. my house has 2 meters.. would each one need a separate stabilzer? quick replies would be great...

You can use a servo stabilizer to power your entire house, but make sure that it has sufficient capacity. In my home I'm using a 5KVA servo. Since you have two meters, you may need to use two stabs. Servos are also available in three face models.

i have no clue what to get.. whcih servo stabilizer would be good.. any particualr specs i shud be lukig for? what awould be approx costs
