Good morning, I was wonder if any FMs have experience with Shanling CDT products. Their upcoming CR60 transport/ripper has caught my eye, since I am looking for an inexpensive CDT.
Would love any feedback on build quality, long term ownership experiences, and most importantly sound quality. Thanks!

I have ordered the Shangling ET3 last month and should expect delivery in 2-3 weeks. Shall update you post that. Thanks.

I have YS Encore transport (https://www.facebook.com/YS.AUDIO.HK) from Hongkong. It was a blind purchase and real VFM. They use Philips CDM 4 (NOS) transport. 2 versions are available one with aluminium/steel body and another one with fully brass body!

Any comments about its performance?
It is very detailed, musical, brings out micro/macro dynamics, well built, using since beginning of 2018..I don't think you can get anything better for 40K INR..all these are experienced only with a good external DAC. Rest of my system is full Acoustic Portrait active setup except the TT and phono pre.

I am using the Shanling ET3 since 7-8 months, my CD collection has increased threefolds after I got this.
Upsampling to PCM and DSD works really good, if you have a i2s dac it can take higher upsampling rates.

I love the way it sounds with upsampling, I had to make a custom i2s cable to pair it with Gustard r26.

CD's remain scratch free and it reads almost all kinds of CD's baring MP3.
Just make sure you place it on a flat surface without it tilting as it can cause skipping.

Thank you so much for your feedback on Shanling CDTs. Just one more request, can you explain to me what you meant by "had to make a custom i2s cable" ?

Errrrr, I thought you were talking about Shanling, I am confused, why are you talking about YS transports in a Shanling CDT thread. Do they share the same manufacturer or transport mechanism or something?

I²S (Inter-IC Sound) is a serial bus interface standard used for connecting audio devices, but there is no universally agreed-upon standard for the pin configuration across different manufacturers.

I needed to make a custom I²S cable for the R26 because its pin layout is different from the standard used by other devices. Without matching the pin configuration, the audio signals wouldn't transmit correctly, so a custom cable ensures proper communication between your source and the R26 DAC.

Its a thing with R26 and not Shanling ET3.

I have an Acoustic Portrait transport. It has Philips Pro 2m
Are these Philips Pro 2M still manufactured? What is the status of service support from Acoustic Portrait in the long term? Will they have spares for the transport if it becomes a necessity?

These philips mechanisms have been out of production for over a decade back. I would be surprised if AP still have spares. They stopped production of their transport not long after the time the drive went out of production
