sonodyne 1501 vs wharfedale diamond 9.1 vs cambridge audio s30

^^may be my 1612 is under powered for c2401.in the manual it says 90watts continous power but on the speaker its 90watts power handling.what is nominal output of c2401

Don't worry about the power handling. Sensitivity of the speaker is what you need to consider. Sonus C2401 is 88db sensitivity & 8 Ohms speaker. So your Denon 1612 should be easily able to handle the speaker.

How long has it been since you bought the C2401 & 1501 BS. If it is new speaker, i would suggest allow it some more time to perform @ it is best. If you have already been using it for a while, then try changing the speaker settings in you amplifier and you should be fine.

but denon specs says 70watts @8ohms.I think its around 60watts when all channels driven.c2401 has 90watts continous power.

90W of continous power is what it might handle. But your receivers power is more than enough to bring an 88db sensitivity speaker to life.

I have Marantz SR5200. It outputs 85W @ 8 ohms for a center channel. When watching movies, i use my Onkyo's center channel speaker (86 db sensitivity). The maxumin power handling capacity for Onkyo is 130W. It very easily brings the speaker to life. So don't think about power handling.

Did you try tweaking the speaker settings on your receiver ?

@elangos I set the croossover to 90hz and from audessy settings I configured the loudness. Is there any other way.

I am not aware of the audessy settings as i have been using the receivers which don't have that menu. Plz ask for forum members suggestion who are already aware of this feature.

Alternatively check if you can set the speaker to LARGE on your receiver settings & check the difference. It should work.

I have checked all the settings but the problem still there.

Ok Buddy. I juz read the Sonus C2401 freq response, it is 75 ~ 20Khz. When you feed the speaker with the less freq response, it is going to sound pale. That is you said that you set the crossover for the speaker @ 90hz. So it is going to need some more volume to produce the sound.

If you set the speaker setting as LARGE, it means that the speaker is capable of handling very low freq up to 20hz. So when a speaker handles more freq then the one mentioned, itz power handling will come down. Try setting the crossover of the C2401 @ 40Hz & experiment.

^^^I will check and reply.may be its due to the cross over settings.I found big improvement after long experience with the roarr 210n and old roarr 210.thanks to sonodyne.

This is my sonodyne 1501.I will attach more pics of center and subwoofer if members are interested.

NO I am not fine with the center speaker.I think it is not capable as the 1501

Sorry Buddy. I am little confused. I understand that your are not getting the best performance from your center channel speaker C2401. Please tell us what you did and what you are experiencing in detail. We can help you.

Buddy if you are,my neighbour I can explain it so,fast.I,watched fast 5, resident evil and some other movies with dts and Dolby formats.some bass tones are, located on the center.during that time c2401 is struggling to produce it.also the loudnes of c2401, is lower comparing with 1501.

the drivers of c2401 is a little bit out from the cabinet.I got it as the same condition in sealed box.is it the design of the speaker or a manufacturing issue.
