how does sony 40bx300 compares with LG 42LD460 ?

compared to lg sony is best,but lgld460 supports more formats than sony.........
lgld460 looks brighter but missing some details,hd pq is good.........
sony looks bit darker but will be more detailed ,sd & hd pq both looks good....

Sony BX series is some of the worst LCD's ive ever seen so avoid it at all cost, they suck very bad in contrast and black level, pic is too grainy no matter the source.No clue abt that LG model since ive not seen it.

Try and get the ex series which is better.

Go for Sony its like no other

Well the BX range of lcds such as BX300 and BX400 don't really have the performance of EX range in image processing(40BX400,32BX300) and contrast (32BX300).
The 40BX400 will however have the edge in contrast compared to the LG.

The EX series is well worth the extra money.or get the samsung C530 which offcourse comes with many different types of panel with different performance

excuse me for my biased opinion for LG as i own it , i just hate Sony for premium they charge from consumer for little better upscaler

Well its only in india,elsewhere like in Singapore they are on par or cheaper then its nearest rival samsung.
Its the cheapest if bought in grey market and since Sony is a direct import unlike LG & samsung which is assembled in india which is taxed at just 5% compared to sony lcds which gets taxed at around 30%.

Secondly all dealers selling Sony product muse follow SURE(Sony Unified Retail Execution) program which means no dealer can sell it under the said MOP price of Sony,this to prevent competition between small dealers and say huge retail chains.The dealers make decent margin,but cannot sell it for a cheaper price even if they wanted otherwise they can no longer be authorized to sell Sony products.

Which was one of the reason amazon(not the retailers selling via amazon) don't stock all Sony products.
