Sony BDP s370 Laser problem

Hi,
I have a sony blu ray player which stopped working. I believe laser becomes weak. can anyone suggest where to buy the laser or suggest me how to tune the laser?

Check the repair cost. If the cost is below 1k then it may be worth.

What makes you think that the laser has become weak....best is to go for a Sony authorized service center, sometimes dirt over lens creates problem, I use alcohol to clean the lens.

Before going to the service centre, it would wise to check exactly what discs it plays and what it doesn't.

Does it play:
BDs?
CDs?
DVDs?

If it plays one or two types of discs but does not play the third. Eg.: if it plays CD and DVDs and does not play BDs, it might be possible to use a CD or DVD cleaning disc to clean the BD lens without opening the player.

Thanks deba. I cleaned the lens and its working. considering the age of the player I think better change a new lens. By the by what is the average age of a Blu ray player lens?

Initially it didnt play Blu ray and DVD but played audio cds. Even after cleaning the lens it didnt play bluray and dvd. But after sometime i give a try and it started playing blurays and dvds. Anyway its working now. thanks all.

Looks like the lens have become weak. It's best to have it repaired or replaced. In my experience the lens cleaner doesn't really help.
