Hi,
I recently purchase sony tv CX520 and home theater DZ310. I am not able to get sound from TV to the HT via HDMI cable. Is there any setting for that?
The installation guy sold me a cable which plugs into headphone area of tv and goes to the HT but the sound quality is not great (very suppressed) and i have to adjust sound setting of TV to get the sound when attaching and removing the cable. Installation guy also told me that HDMI does not support sound for this TV. He tried AVSRP (or something) cable but it too didnt work.

Would appreciate any help in this regard? I cannot find anything by searching.

Thanks,
Gaurav

specification shows that

Digital Audio Output(s) 1 (Rear)
Audio Out 1 (Side)
Headphone Out 1 (Side)

HDMI are only used for Audio/Video In

check whether you can able to use Digital Audio Out or Audio Out (I don't know what actually they have provided)

Hi,
Thanks for the replies. I was able to solve the problem yesterday.
There is only one HDMI (HDMI 1) out of 4 in TV which has audio return channel which transfers sound. I just plugged the HDMI cable in that and i had sound going from TV to the HT.

Now I am researching how will the HDTV, HT and HTPC trio will work w.r.t. sound and audio. I want the sound to come from HT and Video to go to TV, always.
I have not yet purchased the HTPC. Will research everything and then will go for it. Any help is appreciated.

Regards,
Gaurav
