46HX925 Man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There is no competition at all.
Its the best TV of 2011 so far.

Anyways I am not too sure if the bunchin stand for HX925 is available yet. You would need to confirm with Sony India.

Well haven't see the HX92 series yet,but based on user reports and initial preview its going to be the lcd to beat for 2011.

HX925 anyday bro.. if budget is a problem then buy Sonys hx820 or nx720 or hx720... They will be cheaper than hx925.. but if you can buy hx925 then buy it.

Its a no brainer choice, 46HX925 for sure.

Reasons:
1. Excellently implemented Full LED Backlight which provides deep blacks like plasmas without blooming, halos, and banding. Offcourse no clouding and no backlight bleeding.
2. Better support than samsung in terms of longer firmware availability, longer firmware development cycle for TV.

How is the USB playback functionality of HX925? Can it support NTFS, 3D, large HDD with multiple partitions and audio playback while the display is turned off?

It doesn't support NTFS ,it does support 3d via IPTV and USB.
Yes you can get audio playback with display turned off by using the ECO mode which shuts of the lcd and its backlight.

ECO mode was unavailable in USB playback in last year's Samsung TVs... Hope it does work in Sony..

Even I was under same diloma...
would lik to go for KDL-46HX925...I am going on Dewali..as Sony employess get 40% off on all the sonly products and every evployee is elgible to get 3 products..

Which one did you finally purchase? Your exprience so far?

There is no "dilemma" really. There is NO TV today that beats the Sony HX925. D7000 is far below HX925.

Now that both HX925 & NX720 are out in the market, do people in this forum still feel strongly about the HX925? I believe, SONY has even lowered the prices for the festive season, right?

D7000 is has a better 3D with far less crosstalk than all Sony models including the HX 925. In 2D the HX 925 is better but if u want 3D then go for D7000 !!!

IMO its Oranges and Apples comparision.
They are simply not in the same legue to compare...Sony HX925 is local dimming and the Samsung D7000 is edge lit which is a huge difference.

On the other hand calibraters compare HX925 with D8000 (elder sibling of D7000).

To answer the question HX925 is way ahead of D7000 in every -I repeat "every" aspect.

Today went to SONY Center to see NX720 & HX925. However, this particular showroom did not have any of these for demo viewing. Was told to go to the main branch in teh city to get a demo.

They did have 2, 40" Monolithic TVs (EX??). But the glass on them was 'glossy'. The sales guy explained that these are glossy (since TVs were 2010 models) but the new 2011 Monolithic NX720 & HX925 models have a non-reflective Corning Gorilla glass which is non-reflective.

Did not get a chance to drive to the main showroom today. But is this true? 2010 Monolithic models had a reflective glass, while the Corning Gorilla glass in 2011 TVs is non-reflective?
