Guys need your help..

I am planning to buy a LED TV 46'' without 3D. Which is best Sony Bravia or Samsung. Please suggest.

thanks in advance

Samsung will give you better value due to its price and overall design/features. Its new D series models are sleek, with thin bezels and have very good internet (Smart hub) functionalities. Prices are good too as compared to Sony models.

However, if you want best picture quality especially for movies and sports, you should opt for Sony models. Due to better picture processing and panel technology, Sony always produces deeper blacks (for movies) and better processing of fast moving pictures (for sports). They are expected to launch their 2011 models by next week, so you may want to have a look at them as well. The only negative side could be prices, which would be higher than Samsung.

In the demos that I have seen, Samsung had better blacks. I am not contradicting your opinion, but only sharing my observations.

You could try demo of equivalent sony, samsung models side to side with same kind of input and select whatever appeals to you more. With these 2 brands, I don't think there is any risk of going wrong.

Well you can't go wrong with either, but in the samsung the performance varies due to the panel lottery.
The sony is cheaper in grey market.

Hi Indiglo, I know Sony launched Ex series (720, others) earlier this year and I demoed them too. But here I was talking about D7000, D8000 series which are comparable with higher end Sony models which are going to be launched soon. These include HX 929, 820, 720 and NX 720 models. Currently, these models being launched across US, Europe markets and also Australia, China, Korea in Asia. My local dealer says few of these (hopefully HX820!) will be launched here by 15th May.
