I've just noticed that the sony website has been updated with new model NX720. But the pricing is not available yet.

Is there any significant difference between NX710 and NX720? I'm hoping that NX710 would be a cheaper option now that NX720 is launched.

^Well for one it uses a new image processing,3d and the 46" version has a edge lit local dimming panel.

checked the sony advt in times of india today and it seem the base stand+speaker will be sold separately in case of NX720....going by sony's standards they might just ask for 10K extra for the same..no wonder 40NX720 has been priced at 93900/-

Yes. I would say its even better than the Samsung Flagship LED D8000. You can check reviews on the internet to cross check.

Sony website mentions 40NX720 as having "Edge LED" versus 40NX710 which has "Dynamic Edge LED". Is this a mistake?

No. Only the 46" has Dynamic local dimming, the 40" has only an EDGE LED setup.

It may be a mistake, the NX710 did not have micro dimming. The backlighting for 40 NX720 and 40NX710 is the same.

I finally bought a 40NX710. Got the 3D bundle and Bunchin stand free along with it. I wanted to buy a PS3 anyway, and I didn't want to spend more than 1L for the TV+PS3. To cut a long story short, I got carried away from an initial budget of 60k for Panasonic V20 all the way till 1.2L for 46NX720, but then decided to be more frugal. A PS3 would have been additional burden on top of it. With this deal, I spent 90k and got both. The TV looks good, especially with the Bunchin stand in place. The only other TV I liked in the "looks" aspect was Samsung D6600, but it's somewhat expensive and I couldn't wait till Diwali for the prices to drop further. Waiting for delivery+installation tomorrow.

I have a standard question: Is there a way I can check the usage hours (via service menu) for this TV?

What are the difference between NX710 and NX720 ?

Getting both for 90k BUT...

NX710 includes the 3D + PS3 Package and Buchin Stand whereas NX720 doesn't have any freebies...
