PS3 is an very good gaming console and performs exceptionally well as a 3D BDP. The only drawback it has that out cannot be made region free and not sure whether it has games interoperability as well, ie, US purchased games working on Indian model and such.

Firmware version 3.5 provided the support of 3D. If you are purchasing new then the firmware version will be above 4 and it supports 3D. There are some PS3 games with 3D support and with them you can either play in 2D or 3D depending on the display capabilities.

PS3 games are region free disks unlike XBOX, so one can play US purchased games on Indian models.

You have to find an old PS3 which is on 3.55 CFW. The present version is way too high for jailbreak.

Ya, that's the only thing that's holding me back from buying a ps3. But I like the way you say "way too high for jailbreak"!!!
