Speakers for Trance Music under 20K

Hi Guys !!
This is my first post HiFiVision . Recently i developed a taste for trance music and I only listen to trance music by artists such as Armin Van Buurren, Markus Schulz, Dash Berlin ,Above and Beyond etc .

I'd like to build a new speaker set . Preferably speakers which can connect to my PC .I currently own Logitech Z 2300 . They are good for games , movies , hip hop music but they have overpowered bass which kills the melodic tunes of trance music.

I know you guys are pros here , so please recommend me a good speaker set under 20 K . If any one is interested in my Logitech Z 2300, I'd be happy to swap or sell my system . Thanks !!

hi, if you are looking for some good speakers look bookshelfs form PSb, warfedale, monitor audio, they are good for listening trance music. but before that you need to see your room size, wat kind of amplification you are using,r and the source of music to obtain good quality of sound. tell us more about ur room size and amplification and we can suggest some brands for your
audition.

Trance would require some bright combo... You can audition the KEF-300 BS or PSBs B6.. with a Marantz amp like PM500x or 600x for the added brightness

IMO for trance music u need a floor stander speakers.. Bookshelf speakers will fail to reproduce complex bass notes.. Do u have any amplifier???

Not true at all, most cheap floorstanders are usually loaded with muddy midbass trying t obe real bass. In comparison bookshelves are tight punchy and fast.

Thank you guys for your replies . Nope, i don't own any amplifier . I just connect speakers to my computer with built-in sound card .
Do i need to purchase an amplifier or a decent sound card ? Please suggest . If i need to purchase an amplifier , kindly recommend me one .

Get Audioengine A5.
Otherwise raise the budget.

For bassy tracks you require lot of amp power - in order to sound loud.
Sorry, thats the way our ears and brains are made - bass frequency sound less loud than high-midrange.

So you need to get high power amp, which means separate amp.
Will cost you anything from 10K upwards.

Speakers cost separate.

I am sure the vocals,mids , treble etc would be fantastic . I am not sure about the bass tough . As they look quite small , are they able to produce floor pounding bass ?

The Audioengines do NOT produce floor pounding bass , even when placed on heavy speaker stands Sound Foundations - SAL Alif-S/R Speaker Stand I augmented the bass using the Audioengine AS8 subwoofer.However,I would still recommend the A5 considering your room size as they do play pretty loud ( and clear )
I would also recommend the Audioengines considering the fact that Bajaao.com has a terrific RMA policy http://www.hifivision.com/dealer-feedback-review/20584-audioengine-bajaao-com-rma-policy.html , just make sure that you call them up before placing your order online to make sure that they have the speakers in stock - this has been a sour point with some hifivision members who placed the order online but were then informed that the speakers were currently unavailable.

That is quite small? It is one of the largest rooms I have ever seen. What is the size? Because I think mine is 10x10 and it is less than half the size of your room.

If you intend to transform your room into a discotheque - then may I suggest Lajpat Nagar?

There are few shops that specialize in making floor pounding amp + speaker combos.
Don't ask about audio accuracy though. That would be terrible.

If you want same floor pounding from a hi-fidelity set-up, then you would require at least 30K for a subwoofer added to about 15K for amp (norge etc), and 30K for speakers (or raise this to 60-70 K, and don't get sub woofer).
Of course you would also need to add CD player or whichever player - ipod etc.

This is a visualized picture of my living room . I am an Interior Designer. So , I re-designed my room in 3D software. It's definitely much smaller than this.
Anyway, since i am purchasing a desktop speakers 2.1 , so size doesn't matters much .
