Hi,

I've connected my Toshiba 40PX200E directly to the outlet which is connected to an UPS (Amaron Tribal Italia model UPS 800VA). MCB is there for the main power.

when the power goes off, TV goes on without getting switched off (it was the case with my earlier sony 29"CRT as well) as UPS backs it up. (it is mentioned as sinewave but im not sure. for 800VA it costs around 19k 3yrs back)

Do i still need to go for a stabilizer only for TV? or a surge protector?

When I went through the brochure of UPS, it is mentioned as below which I am not sure of.

Pure sine wave output with i-DSP technology protects gadgets
. Tribal Italia range of UPS provide Continuous Power Supply at times of blackouts, brownouts, sags, and surges.

- TV can handle 110v-240v according to manual. UPS can handle 180v-265v. Do I still need a stabilizer?

I've gone thru other similar posts but did not find answer. Experts please help.

IMO, you don't need a stabilizer. Your UPS can handle the TV much better than any stabilizer. I am also using UPS for my TV.

I've just called the service engineer of Toshiba and enquired about this. He said during power failure if TV is not getting switched off and on (bcos of delay in UPS)then stabilizer not needed as UPS can handle the fluctuations well.
