Hello Friends

I am trying to convert Stereo Output from a TV / iPod to a Mono Input passively.
I understand it can be done with the help of couple of resistors. Came across various solutions on google but confused. Need a simple solution.

As far as project is concerned, building a very basic Mono Input to FM Modulation Output for a friend who can mainly listen TV's in night from his phone thru FM Radio. Unfortunately circuit takes Input as mono only.

Mono can not be coverted to stereo...however stereo ,you can always convert it to mono..and whatever pics depicts above only for converting stereo to mono

I understand Mono cannot be converted to Stereo.
Ok let me clear the confusion. I mean 2 channel when I say Stereo.

I do not want connectors. Is there any way to convert it with the help of resistors ?

Input at the PCB board I am using is 3.5 Stereo Female. Board design simply grounds one channel and processes the another channel. I wanted to downmix the Stereo to Mono and then send it as input.

nobody should use this sort of thing to convert stereo to mono. You'll be shorting your outputs together. if you are lucky and your output has some sort of short circuit protection, it might just shut down, but if not, you're looking at some blown output stage

darshanjoshi, the answer is fairly trivial, though if you think figuring this out is tough ( this is fairly basic network theory), you should think twice before trying to make RF circuitry

here's your answer
Simple mixer

PS: commercial solutions are available

though if you are interested in doing so for the fun or learning of DIY, good luck :)
