Subwoofer Cable vs RCA for Interconnects ???

Here is the Subwoofer plate amp pic from Rythmik Audio. I've highlighted the terminals

The Line out is filtered at 80hz . However it has a parametric EQ so I will be able to fine tune integration.

So without a sub out from the preamp. I would have to run cables from preouts of preamp to Line in on Sub and in turn line out to Poweramps which will filter 80hz and below from going to to the speakers.

However the best place for the sub is approx 20 feet away however the RCA's would run 30 feet each cable.

So not too sure if there is another way out. Or rather will I be able to use well shielded RCA's and run it through a conduit away from power cables to avoid ground loops.

Would there be any signal loss ?

Hey Flash, I'm curious how did you solve the issue. Have you used a splitter? Unfortunately your sub doesn't have balanced in, else 20' balanced cable would've been possible.

Well - I used a well shielded Coax and terminated the ends using DAC plugs

Amp Preouts L+R -- 2 coax cables run 30 feet each through conduits into L+R Line in of the Rythmik Sub

L+R Line out - 2 coax cables run 30 feet back to the Power Amps

Line out crossover fixed at 80hz and anything above goes to Front channel Speakers.

Now - some would ask me why 120 feet of Coax cables running back and forth the entire room - There are easier alternatives
However -

1. Bass Management- Speakers now don't play freq below 80hz, SO no double bass or bass cancellations issues

2. Power Amps now get a signal to play from 80hz and above , It does not have to play power hungry freq.
So in turn more headroom, runs cooler and better dynamics

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There were some ground loop issues initially. However keeping Power cables separate from the Coax solved it .. So no hum at the moment. and with the equipment turned on there is pin drop silence.

However the second Rythmik sub that I will be building in a few months will have XLR, So will use that as a Master and use the present Rythmik as a Slave.

I strongly advocate 2 subs in a Stereo Setup or even HT to even out room response as opposed to SPL benefits
