Hi Friends,

I am looking to purchase an AVR mostly for watching movies. Can you guys help me in identifying the best value for money AVR below 35K?

You can consider Yamaha rxv479, Pioneer vsx830, Denon x1200. All near to that budget. You have to raise ur budget a bit.
379 is not listed in India .

You can try for yamaha htr3067 (24k INR), Denon x520

Yes 3067 and 379 are similar but in these scenario I'll suggest you go for Denon X1200 for a warmer sound and Pioneer for a little exciting sound.

Thanks mate, I narrow up to Denon X1200, though its over my budget, i guess it should be future proof as it has dolby atmos and dts x

Before going to the specifications and features, do check the reliability and service availability.

Denon X1200 will be good with Dolby atmos , Dts X (later via free firmware upgrade)decoders . As said by FM do check the service availability nearby your area. Hope in Kochi it should not be a problem.

I have narrowed my search to Pioneer VSX 830 and Denon 1200W. Pioneer model sells around 37K and denon for 41K. But denon is future ready with ATMOS and DTS X. What should i do guys?

Audition it and pickup the best according to your hearing taste. What is the speaker you are having or planning? The AVR should match well with your speakers too.
[Coming year movies/blurays will be either atmos or dts X encoded audios mostly (already many blurays have came).Keep this too in mind for deciding the same.]

I would pick Denon as I prefer a slightly warmer sound but demo and trust your ears.

Both are very good but as I mentioned their sound differs, the Denon is warmer with little recess and the Pioneer a little enthusiastic in the upper mids and higher.

Hi all, where can I get these prices in New Delhi NCR for Denon 1200 W Rs 41,000. and Pioneer VSX 830 Rs 37,000.

I find prices Rs 10,000 more in New Delh as compared to Cochin....thugs!

Sorry for hijacking the thread, This is my first post, Not a audiophile. I have also narrowed down on AVR-X1200W. based on the features available. Have not done a demo till now.

Need your suggestion on the speaker package, request you to suggest speaker packages with in 40k. I do not understand anything interms ohms etc. Its basically going to be for movies only and 20% music.

Based on your suggestions of speakers i can go and do a demo for the same.

If it is 80% movies, then go for polk tsx series (110 bs,150 center,110bs for surround).
