Hi Frnds.. actually m looking for a cheapest avr available so that I can hook it up with my Sony home theater speakers n its passive woofer... waiting for u replies..
In case you have plans to upgrade the speakers then it would be better to go for an AVR alone, would set you back by approx 20k. If not then it would be better to go for a HTiB like Yamaha 196 costing around 22k and you can sell the sony, net cost would be cheaper than buying a standalone AVR.
Yes sell the sony, you won't be able to use the passive sub with AVR. Or Change the sub only. Get a powered active sub from Sonodyne. But Sonodyne Roarr 108 will cost you 16k.
So the only profitable way is to sell Sony and get a Onkyo HTS 3500.
I think the cheapest avr available is Yamaha 371 which costs around 20K. Even if you buy this AVR you still need an amplifier to power your subwoofer. So better get a HTiB like Onkyo 3500/3400.
