Hi!

Looking forward to buy 55" 4K TV. Please suggest between Vu 55" 4K Iconium or Samsung 55" 4K (Any Imported Model)

Usage:
Main usage will be for watching tv show and movies in dark environment and for that Samsung seems better compared to vu as it has VA panel and better black uniformity.

Have shortlisted as follows:

Model - Price
VU 55" 4K Iconium Model - 55-56K
Samsung 55" 4K Imported Models (Ranging from 70K to 90K, depending on models)

Points:
*These Samsung models are with 1 year seller warranty which is highly unreliable if things go wrong. But at same time seems better in terms of panel, black uniformity is best in these models no issue whatsoever like clouding or flashlight as seen in VU models, may be better reliability of panel, better contrast, viewing pleasure and more features.
*VU seems VFM at price range and that too with 3 years bundled and 2 year additional summing to 5 years warranty at 5k additional expense. Hence in any case TV can be replaced/repair for issues for 3 to 5 years at least.

Price Difference:
31k if choosing mid-high end samsung model at 87-90k in comparison to vu at 56k price.

What are your reviews and feedback for the same??

Thanks.

I dont think you will get Samsung 55" 4K leds around 70 to 90K range.

Imported model with seller warranty (no use though) are easily available.

Again this is the reason I have put up this thread to consider VU or imported Samsung model. price difference in vu and imported Samsung uhd(4k model) is also 14k for flat version and curved imported samsung(4k/uhd) around 25-30k.

Vu 55 4Kis 2015 model. so be aware of that.

Yes, unless there is any major difference in picture/screen quality in any version that may come this year it doesn't make much difference to me. Even new curved vu has limited functionality, whereas I have Beelink GT1 android tv box so that should make any tv smart and way better than any brand manufacturer could make in this or coming years. What do you think?

I know that imported tv sets like samsung are assembled here by importing their different parts in bulk separately. So is it possible that some of these parts like may be panels or power supply are not original Samsung parts? Maybe that can explain the huge price difference between grey market and official Indian Samsung products.

AFAIK, they are not assembled but imported as completely whole unit from Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand and hence cheaper compared to Indian market. India has higher pricing structure for same model compared to far east countries.

Re: Suggest: Vu 55" 4K or Samsung 55" 4K (Imported Model)

I concluded by looking at import data where parts of samsung tv models are being imported from even gulf countries. Also I think there is difference in import duty structure for parts and complete tv sets. Maybe I am wrong.

Yes, quite possible. Also may be even that is company importing those parts at basic rate from their other mfg. unit but when it comes to replacing those parts without warranty they charge huge to customers.

For grey market TV I don't think they are assembled, rather they are imported as whole unit and sold.

When there are replacements needed without warranty in tv's of samusng, sonry or lg It is then when it feels like investment in brand like VU would have been great as brands like sony and Samsung give almost 40% to 80% of quotation for replacing those parts, whereas in vu there is 3 years warranty included and option to extend it by 2 more years.

Why don't u check out the Philips 55" 4k... Comes with 5 yr comprehensive warranty standard for this month if u buy from Vijay sales. Just bought the 49" one... N it's perfect. U can chek it's reviews on a thread started by another member for the 55 inch one.

I was also thinking on the same lines and bought an intex 55 uhd for 60.5 k and it's awesome,3 years warranty too
You should check it out before taking the plungem

VU 55 iconium is very good .. bright picture ..

when i have compared sony , vu side by side playing 4k strawberry videos
i noticed sony displays all details in the image .. vu misses out lot of details .. but vu is full bright panel ...

if you want accurate images in tv.. go for sony triluminous.. otherwise stick to the vu tv... its very impressive tv with bright images.

sony 4.5/5
vu 4/5
samsung 3/5

i think vu gives maxium 3year warranty not 5. i have clarified this in their whatsapp group. You can whatsapp to vu to ask your questions.
