I want some suggestions regarding a quality phono for a low output mc cartridge which is quite good value for money. Some suggestions welcome.

Check out the ifi-phono from ifi-audio.com. I'm using one right now and absolutely loving it.

It's apparently trickle-down technology from AMR (Abingdon Music Research - a high-end brand) designed by Thorsten Loesch. It's newly launched, and the price is reasonable, tho' I do expect it to rise in future. It offers multiple loading options for both MM and MC, optional equalisations to standard RIAA, plus a 6 Db boost option over the standard gain, again for both MM and MC. If your MC cart is low output (.2 to .4 Mv), then this is a great solution. You might have to import it, tho', as I don't think they have an Indian distributor yet. I got mine on a recent visit to Singapore.

Considering you're in Delhi, a visit with your favorite LPs to Virens place to listen to his phono would be in order and highly recommended.

Regards

Thanks for the suggestions. Was already thinking along those lines let see how this turns out to be.

Yes, I second that! Though I do not own Viren's phono, I have heard it a couple of times and can say that it is definitely worth the money you spend on it.

Best,

Hi,

Listened Trigon Advance at couple of times in different set up and it is really good. May be Arj can pitch in with details as he also has the same.
