Hi All,
I'm planning to buy a 32 inch LCD and budget is 30k. What would be the best possible TV that I can buy for this price? I've checked the prices of Samsung C450 (30k) and Panasonic model Xseries but I don;t exactly remember the number(around 27k). Yet to check prices for LG and Sony. Any suggestions please? The TV has to be good for normal Dish TV signals as this will be a gift for my parents at home. HD playback would be limited as of now.

Was also thinking about increasing the budget and get the Panasonic 42X20 plasma but as I have to ship the TV to my parents place I'm kind of shelving that idea. Best price I got was 37.5k till now. But if I get it for 35k then I can even think about getting the plasma itself and ship it via Air. Surface would be too risky IMHO. Untill then I need to know which LCD would be the best option for me for 30k? Anything above 30k I'm not willing to consider as the difference won't be too much between the much bigger sized plasma and I would be left thinking about the price vs size difference.
Regards,

You can buy 42X20 plasma from ebay.in diwali deal and get it shipped free to your house.
Price is Rs.36,921

Hey thanks, might be a good idea. But what about warranty and other stuffs? Will it be safe to buy a TV over ebay? I bought lot other stuffs on ebay but never bought a TV. Do they take proper care while shipping and all?

Saw Panasonic TH-L32X15 today and that TV is actually looking better than the Samsung 32C450. Also the panel is IPS panel and of 100Hz refresh rate.Anyone have any opinion on this TV? Being already a Panasonic TV user I'm bit inclined towards Panasonic ;-)

L32X15 is definately better than samsung c450. Where r u from and what price r u getting it for? I am in Delhi and am getting this TV for 27.5K.

But i think u should look for Full HD model like Panasonic G10 which also costs the same as I think it would be better than the above if u don't do much gaming.

G10 or S10? You Delhi guys are really lucky as far as prices are concerned. Here the lowest quote I got was 29.5k :( for X15. Dunno how much S10 would cost. Got a quote of 33k for the U20 itself in another shop. Need to ask the X15 guy about his pricing of the U20 and S10..
I'm from Bangalore.

Ok guys, got a Panasonic 32U20 (Full HD model) for 30.5k for my parents. It'll be mostly used for Sat TV viewing and some movies. Would've loved to get the 42X20 plasma considering price and performance, but carrying that to my natives would've been a herculean task. The ebay guys flatly refused to ship the plasma to my natives. So decided for a smaller and lighter TV set. Initially was considering X15 but that model seems to be no longer available in most of the shops so went for this model. Checked the TV by playing a bit of BFBC 2 on PS3 and looks pretty nice. Checked with some normal TV output and looks ok. Anyway, thanks all for the help.

To bought LG 32LD650 last week for 35k after 2 months of research. I am highly impressed with the PQ.Also LG after sales service is the best.

I just purchased 2pcs of VU 32' Full HD for Rs25K each. Build quality is good and Picture quality too. Its got all the required features unlike sony, samsung, LG who unlock some extra features and have 4 to 5 series.

Anyways it is always better to c it with your own eyes before u buy.

I dont know but is VU supposedly a decent brand ?

I mean you could have got an LG 32 incher (32LD310) for easily for around 22k or lower.
Infact I am myself buying a Samsung 32c450 for 27k in a couple of days time.

Also that I read in this thread that Toshiba 32 incher is available for 22k.

Did you not bargain for this tv ? As per the company website the price is anyways mentioned as 25500.

These Samsung and LG's are only HD ready but I am sure they are better tv's altogether. Its another thing most people are not able to differentiate between a full hd and hd ready tv below 50 inches sizes.

just like 3D i guess FULL HD is also a marketing gimmick

Certainly a gimmick for 32" size TVs.

If you would use it as a computer monitor, you would need all that extra resolution for near field view. IMO, useless for TVs as we would see them from > 6' at which point there is no difference between FHD and 720p.

I suggest you to go for Panasonic 32U20 they are best bang for bucks. Just bought it for Rs.29000/- after thoroughly comparing it against Samsung 5 & 6 series. Some people might say no samsung is much better but I was not able to justify there high cost, 1 year warranty and biggest issue of lottery panel against Panasonic Made in Japan IPS panel, 3 years warranty and lower price.

Samsung USB movie format support is really great. It can play almost anything.

It boils down to 1 thing if you want to watch regular TV buy this but if you want to watch more HD movies than consider samsung.

Recently I saw Panasonic 32A11. It has nice design. Also very good sound quality from 4 speakers. Cost approx Rs30,000

Purchase the Audiolab 6000A Integrated Amplifier at a special offer price.
