Hi All,

Newegg has reduced price of this PJ to 400USD, which is tempting me to order my first projector now :).

I have been reading the posts/reviews of various PJs and i am convinced with the capability & tech specs of this for my budget.

My questions are-
-Would it still be a VFM as my landing cost would be somewhere in 35k range.

-Another option is Acer x1320wh (WXGA) PJ which is available locally for 34k with warranty. The main difference between two Pjs are 3D capability and contrast ratio & h5370 falls ahead x1320 in both. I do not have any first hand feedback for x1320wh..

-Which is the better (safe & fastest) way to get it shipped - borderlinx or ishop
-if i go borderlinx way, should i check "re-packing" option.

TIA

Hi, I have just bought the Acer H5370 from newegg thanks to the price drop, for a first projector based on the reviews and VFM, I doubt you can go wrong with the H5370, I am not completely sure about the international warranty, but I know the model is available in India, and we will have some sort of service backup, if needed.

As for the purchase, check out Amazon if they ship to India, I recall them shipping some of the projectors their price will be all inclusive of customs and duties delivered to your door step

Amazon ships this to India but landing cost is 42k, ishopinternational offer is 39k for the same...
Btw is optoma HD20 (used 150 hrs) is available for 34k, is that a better choice if I am not looking for 3D feature?
Just checking all the options b4 taking plunge:)

Ordered the projector on Wednesday evening, and I had it in my hands on Friday afternoon, fantastic experience. I was out over the weekend, got back this afternoon, unboxed the projector, it is sleek and nice. It has the basics a carry case, vga cable, remote, manual.

I did not have a hdmi cable, loaded up a 1080p print of Django Unchained and enjoyed the movie on my projector, the picture was bright, in the dark scenes it got a bit dull, thats because the ambient lighting was quite high. As it got dark, it was awesome, very bright, vivid colors. On the flip side, did notice the occasional rainbow effect, did not bother me.

All in all, it seems like a great budget and maiden projector, quite satisfied with my purchase.

Welcome to the club jasku, did you notice the DLP cinema like movie picture thrown by the projector... it is pretty impressive. The occasional RGB, you see it because you read about it. Don't let people know that it exists and they will never see it.

RBE is seen only if you try to see fast across entire screen. If you don't move your eyes across, you may not see it.

Yes, when I initially brought the PJ, I used to do all stunts to replicate the issue. Moving your head fast from left to right, you will see it, but I don't care about RBE now and now it has kinda disappeared.

Thank you Premblr.

Yes, the picture quality was indeed impressive. You guys got it right about the RBE, I was fishing all over for it and eventually noticed it, then said to myself just enjoy the movie and large screen, so I did!

I havent really seen any other DLP projector in action, will need to check out a couple to benchmark my Acer, but again you cant beat the value of this piece of hardware.

Next on list is the AVR!

All the best Ajay, do let us know what you end up buying.
