Switching from soundbar to av receiver

Well, Denon always shines in Movies, but it doesn't imply that they are bad in Music. The speakers shine in both Movies and Music. Again you can't compare a $400 speakers with $1000 speakers. The Sub is really good, Denon Dynamic EQ takes the experience to a new level. At night it produces a low level of HUM, I believe it's common with most of the active Subs. X1600H supports eARC and Dolby Atmos Height Virtualization compared to X1400H. Rest, they are pretty identical.

For the sub you might want to check the rca cable. It shouldn't produce any hum sound when no audio signal is given to the sub.

It does produce the hum even without any input plugged-in. You won't notice it until place the ears near the sub. As per online forums, it's pretty common with Polk Sub, looks like the power transfer is placed too near to the Amp and as result, the amp is picking up the Mains (50HZ) noise.

No it should not HUM, Check the Power switch behind subwoofer is it kept on "ON" always?

On Polk TL1600 subwoofer, you have option to keep the power switch to "Auto", by doing this when there is no audio signal to subwoofer it will switch to standby mode & there should not be any HUM. Else just move the Power switch to "OFF" & observer if the humming still continues. If yes, then has to do with LFE/RCA cable connected or the subwoofer power cable, ref link below to isolate the issue.
