To be 'smart' or 'non-smart' w/ a firestick?!

hello every1,

posting this on behalf of a friend whose old sony tv went kaput recently.

now he has a flexible budget of +30k, and is flexible for size too, optimum requirement being of a 43" TV.

he has an amzn firestick, and is wondering whether should buy the upcoming 50" motorola UHD TV, or buy a sanyo NON-SMART full HD LED TV model he has chosen, for 18k.

please guide.

also, another point is, he doesnt have any 4k content to play, nor will be using any streaming service as such to stream 4k stuff..so will it be very wise to invest in an UHD TV, when the tech is rapidly evolving & lifecycles of TVs rapidly devolving?
