Top 5 classical Recordings/Conductors - what are some must-hear recordings or performances?

Whether for their sheer brilliance in recording or the once-in-a-lifetime combination of musicians, there are certain performances that just hit different. I recently stumbled upon some Furtwängler releases… and wow, they played at such a different level—it was almost scary good.

Mahler's 2nd symphony conducted by Mr. Zubin Mehta is considered to be very good. Heard from a Youtube video yesterday.

- Carmina Burana - Live from the Forbidden City - DG CD
- Hilary Hahn playing the Sibelius Violin Concerto. This is part of a DG CD which has her playing Schoenberg too.
- Solti's 1986 Beethoven's 9th from the Proms - I have heard this only on Youtube so the recording is not great, but the performance is phenomenal.
