Talking about the cables, yes they are painful. I am having to get everything custom made - XLR to RCA cables. Guess it would help if I knew how to make them myself!
Gobble - the DEQ is more targeted at RTA usage. Its forte is room correction (or space correction - given it is used for live audio purposes in the first place) but it also doubles up as a DAC, as a switching tool between different sources (though not painlessly), upsampler and of course as an equalizer.
