There is a beautiful shot of a turntable in the movie 'Small Apartments'
In this movie, Mr.Allspice (James Caan) has it.

4. Kishore Kumar in the epic comedy, Half Ticket shakes a leg with a lady with music played on a Record Player in the background. Actually, putting it into context, Kishore Kumar was acting a sales person for the TT in that scene. Hilarious.
Nope, actually that was a spool tape recorder that he was demoing for the lady in question.
Heh. I pretty much know that film by heart - one of my all time favourites. Still pissed off as hell that I can't get one decent copy of it anywhere. Bloody ultra folks have chopped a good 30 mins off.
I have the Ultra VCD and two different editions of the DVD. All badly truncated. Official ultra channel on youtube also has this truncated version. Random jumps throughout the film - I used to have it on VHS so remember a lot of the lost scenes.
Shame - this is how we treat our films.
Let me share my experience: I have an LP of Anand. The movie barely has 4 songs in all. The LP also has dialogues. Now what HMV has done is that to accommodate the DIALOGUES, they have skimped the songs itself. Can you believe it? Stanzas, repeating lines, lead music etc. are all skimped in an LP version for a movie which has just 4 songs?? If a user is not getting full songs even after paying for a OST LP, where is he supposed to get it?
For Andhi, the songs were recorded at a faster speed on an EP to get it accommodated, making it almost unbearable. At times, it can be hard to determine a male & female voice on that EP!
Regarding the dialogue LP, it was specially edited by Rishikesh Mukherjee himself(pls check the cover) to accommodate the movie storyline, hence songs are of lesser duration.
Bhaskar
Also I think in movie Umrao Jaan the gazal "Chupke Chupke" is shown playing on TT
