TV for outdoor use

Guys, I know there is a lot of audio equipment that is suitable for outdoor conditions, however I don't know of any televisions.

I would like one for my balcony where I'm anticipating a fair bit of rain etc. Any solutions that you can think of?

Any recommendations would be appreciated.

AFAIK, waterproof TV is out if question.

You may want to consider a Projector based setup. Mount the projector in an area which is not affected by rain. From there, project an image onto a wall directly as you may not find a water proof projection screen.

Thats a great suggestion, will seriously consider it. Perhaps one of those new LED ones?!

I have a pretty decent Epson TW3000 projector I was planning to put u p for sale on these forums, but now you have me thinking!

I am not sure if you have gone through the above sites - just though I would share what I found. It would be quite something- sitting in the balcony and enjoying the luxuries of indoors.

Thanks Mav for the suggestions. I looked up all the sites, however they don't seem to be india based.

I've worked with people in outdoor advertising and am familiar with the standards for these tv's i.e. ip65-68.

Just want to find an indian supplier that will be reliable and also want an idea of pricing.

Will keep you posted on what i find projector also seems like a good option for now.

However just realized an important reason why I switched to TV's in my house too, ambient light!

The balcony is going to be full of it... a projector might not be ideal.
