You can do the same in 3300...a single button (total of 3 presses) on the remote would let you tweak Sub and centre levels as well as bass/treble.

and it can't be done with music playing..you have to stop the music or music stops when you are making these changes...ha ha...its kind of primitive...you pump up the bass and then play again to see if it has any effect...then you go back to increase or decrease as per choice...

z5500 has dedicated buttons on remote for all channels...you can (during playback) increase the bass/volume/settings any time...need not stop playback..nor does the playback stop...
