Woww, Its look stunning Especially the AV Rack such a mammoth one with neat finish.

I dont have experience with Niam\Splender but Niam is in my Dream list accompanying with accuphase.

So how the new combo sounding? Has the Speakers finished burn-in Hours. Some close up pictures with GRILLS Off would be great.

I quite like it, I think Naim pairs up with better with Spendor than the MA RX6. Bass is much controlled and the vocal is much natural. In all makes good music.

By the way I designed and custom made the rack with the help of a fabricator :)

i think that green wall is much suitable to audio signals as it is looking very good:)..
anyway spendor is very good speakers and naim will drive them easily..post some video while playing them..it would be much factual..

Nice setup and a very good speaker.
You may need to do some wire management (keeping the signal and power cables separated/crossing at right angles)

also do try experimenting with speaker setups (move the rack behind and not between the speakers etc)

congratulations sunder,

the setup looks nice.

There is Vijwilso from bangalore with the same combo ( i think ) maybe you could compare notes :)

BTW, do PM me your take on the DA160 - i have often looked at it from the sidelines but never got around to hearing it. They dont make it anymore.

The DA 160 is a very well built DAC. Coming to the main point, the audio quality. The short answer is its very good. Long answer is it does what it is conceived for, rather perfectly, its designed to sound as much possible as analog, nice engaging music with silky smooth vocal its biggest strength. Very good for long listening. However it wont have that wow factor of some of the other DAC that will make you go wow straight away, this one is uncolored and grows on you. It will be happy being part of a rig that is conceived to sound warm.

Hope it helps.

Sunder.

Congrats , I used to own the same spendor model and was using it with Naim and Exposure Gears , was very happy with it . Naim and Spendor are great match tonally , but it lacks powers . A 100 + watts will make it to sing to its best

My another friend 'ilar' from Coimbatore owns the same model , He is also using it with Naim XS .

Hi Sundar,

As Vijay suggested, add some more watts, and you will see it really sing. Nice speakers!!!

I understand your point, but unfortunately I cant add a power amp to Nait 5i, only option is to sell this and buy a new amp but even the topend integrated amp from Naim produces 80 watts. Do you think Naim XS or Super naim will be a good enough amp for the speakers ? Any other suggestions ? :)

sunder,

whats your room size and what kind of music do you listen to ?

what speaker cables are you using presently ?
