From what I checked out I always had few speaker I'm my mind that could pair well with Naim
- Harbeth
-Linn
-Spendor
- Rega

I had audition all the speaker from above except Spendor. Liked all of them. Honestly I did my first audition of Spendor after buying these speakers at my home. I went based on the gut feel that I can't go wrong with the combination

I have a Naim XS-2 (not the new one) with NACA 5 speaker cables for sale....you could consider that as I have never increased my volume pot to more than 11 o clock position with my speakers which are rated at 86dB efficiency...

BTW, also heard the Spendor A9 and SP2/R3 with the Luxman L-590 in Shenzhen, China today...very nice sound and wonderful mids as usual...wanted to hear the A3 but the dealer did not have it with him..

But yes, your speakers could do with more watts....

Rahul , Can you share you opinion about Sp2/3R with the A9 . I always liked their classic series compared to the newer A-Series . The S-Series is a middle ground . But many prefer A-series over S-series/Classic


I think the SP2/3R spec is comparable to the Harbeth Compact 7 and also the same size drivers . What is your opinion on these . For a long time , i am thinking of buying either on of these . I listened to Compact 7 , but not the SP2/35

Yes, I am using NAC-A5. I had also tried different cables and not liked them

Sorry Sid, the only way is to import them from the HK dealer who handles worldwide distribution where Luxman is not present...

The SP2/3R is comparable to the Compact 7 in terms of size of cabinet, driver and even looks...It is nice but a little too warm ..Infact, I had almost bought these speakers from the Singapore dealer before I heard the Harbeths in SG...I just feel the Harbeths are a tad more natural sounding and transparent than the Spendors but Spendors have their own charm when listening to the Diana Krall type vocals and the audiophile CD vocals....
