Upgrading my PC!

Why don't you buy the card from him ?

What is the motherboard make and CPU ?

What is the budget for your options 1 and 2 ?

1) There was no point in buying. I was not getting audio from its HDMI port. I was waiting for him to suggest a replacement which I could have bought.
2) The mother board in Gigabyte M-41 Combo. The guy who had fitted it initially, told me that there were three versions of this mobo. The diagram shows an SPDIF out in basic version,Unfortunately, the one I have is without that option.Otherwise, those who have seen it said that it is quite sufficient, except that it does not have any SPDIF pin available for connection. If any more info is required then I'll see the configuration tonight.
3) There is no budget as such. But I guess about 10k should suffice.

send us a pic of your mobo if that is possible. Otherwise I think your board has a pcie x16 solt to be able to hold a GPU. you can get a good HTPC GPU in 4K and that may solve your problem. GT440 or GT560 may be. Do you want to do gaming too?

It is done!:yahoo: The local computer guy installed ASUS NVidia 210 Card and connected it to the AVR through HDMI. Now I am getting audio & video both. Total damage Rs 3200/-all done(including cost of my complete lack of knowledge). Now using XBMC & KMPlayer. Sincere thanks to all FMs for their contribution & encouragement.:signthankspin:

A Geforce 210 which is like 5 year old tech should not cost more than 1500-1800 rupees. Also it does not support DTS-HD and Dolby TrueHD. Bad idea to be buying this!

Yes my dear! I already checked & found that it was(including cost of my complete lack of knowledge). But now that I know, I shall buy a 610 or equivalent very soon.
