Hi, I recently bought a 39 inch led toshiba 39P2305 and looking to run it through an UPS. In the manual the power consumption is given as 91 Watts. What should be the VA rating of the UPS? Will Microtek 800VA suffice? Please also recommend a good surge protector which will connected before the UPS. The UPS must also be able handle the additional load of a TATA SKY HD box and a cordless phone.

Normal TV use doesn't call for the use of a UPS as there is no need to ensure TV is shut down properly after saving data like a computer. If you get any good brand voltage stabilizer that will protect the TV from voltage fluctuations and power surges. The power consumption of modern LED TVs is very less say 25 Watts or around that. So get the cheapest voltage stabilizer from a trusted and reliable brand.

But if i wanted to would 800 VA suffice? My past experience has been very bad. Only the TVs that run through a UPS have survived more than a year so don't want to take risk. Can you also please suggest stabilizer brand and ebay link if possible

Logically speaking the fear about damaging the TV without UPS is unfounded, but could be due to my lack of knowledge as well :)
I have my LED TV running on a V-Guard stabilizer for couple of years now and no issues so far. Also my fridge is running on a V-G. V-Guard is a trusted brand for voltage stabilizers. Just look for the reviews in flipkart and order the one suiting your requirement.

I believe what he is looking for a UPS with back up so that if the power goes he could still watch the TV for the back up time if the current come back it would be a smooth transition too. Even I'm interested in this if its a cost effective solution than Stabilizers

800VA is enough for TV and STB. It can support around 500W without any problem. Even a 600VA can be used for TV.
