UPS for projector

Hi FMs,

I am about to install my pj epson 2030 soon. Need your suggestions to get budget UPS to safeguard my projector. Pls suggest the company name and the price of it roughly. I will build my home theater in near future with separates along with AV receiver. My question is will my Vguard crystal plus stabilzer + Belkin 8 socket(surge protector) safeguard the AV equipment.

Hi,
I would suggest to go for an online UPS system from brands like APC, Emerson etc. little expensive - worth protecting ur investment. The ordinary UPS wont provide the needed protection.

Eaton another brand worth to compare with APC and Emerson. Yes, worth every penny in protecting the investment, rather than doing rounds around service centers.

P.S: I own an Eaton 3KV.

I zeroed down to 2 APC onine UPS for my pj. Prices are SUA1000I - 19,999.00,
APC SUA1000UXI - 14093 from amazon.in. Out of these two models( 1 kva), SUA1000UXI will suffice the need for my projector? Can I go for servo stabilizer for the AVR and speaker packages?

As of now, I need desparatly an UPS to safeguard. Pls help me in choosing the APC online ups model and let me know any other model comes less than that of the above models?

If I go for 1500va(SUA1500I) with a price of 25999 do I still need servo stabilzer?

What kind of backup time are you looking at?

I am planning to hook up only projector to 1 kva online UPS and rest as of now to Belkin surge protector 8 socket one. I don't have any voltage fluctuations in my current residence. So in future will take servo stab for these AVR equipment.
I need to Purchase Audio equipment(receiver, speakers). As of now I have only Projector.

Hi Srikar,
Consider the following points -
1. You will anyway need a inverter for your house - buy any sinewave inverter for the entire home. I have a Microtek.
2. I believe in protecting individual components from power fluctuations, so i have stabilizers for my HT components.
3. While my PJ works well with the home inverter, i'm thinking of buying an online UPS exclusively for my PJ. This will serve both as UPS and stabilizer and will come at the cost of a stabilizer. I'm planning on getting this
APC 600VA UPS: Amazon.in: Electronics
exclusively for my projector. It costs Rs 2680
4. As Sam said in another thread, this UPS has a backup of say 20 mins or so but inside a second the backup inverter (powering the house) will kick in and you will not really use the 20 min backup.
5. Rest of my HT components are taken care by home inverter plus a dedicated stabilizer. I use a vguard crystal - didn't have any problem so far.
6. Now, ideally it would have been great if i had a higher capacity online UPS that powered by entire HT but they are expensive.
The whole thing should work out economically.
