Hi..I just bought a Sony EX 720 46 incher and also Onkyo 509 and pure acoustics speakers.

WHen I connect my laptop to Onkyo using GAME as input on Onkyo using HDMI and then connect onkyo to TV using HDMI using HDMI 3 on TV - I only get a blue screen on the TV and no sound. Why is this happening?

WHen I connect the laptop directly to TV using HDMI I have both video and audio.

Even if I have to do some setting changes to Onkyo, I need the video on tv to play around the menus.

Please help me out..its midnight and am disappointed that i cannot see any HDMI content on my TV plus 5.1 on my speakers..

The Onkyo should act as a splitter in the sense that the video is passed to the TV via HDMI out while it decodes the audio bitstream.

You should try both the TV inputs by shifting the HDMI cable from one port to another on the TV as well as check the video passthrough settings of your Onkyo receiver. Plus check the HDMI cables too.

There is no reason it shouldn't work.

it has to work........I also have a HTPC in my system. check the HDMI version on the cables. v1.4 is not supported by most devices as yet. I had a similiar problem and replaced the HDMI cable with an older version.
