URGENT!!Please help me to complete FORM 40A

Hi ,

I have ordered one boston accoustics system through Hifimart.
But problem is as i am in west bengal Hifimart is asking for provide
FORM 40A.I tried lot in last few days to do that but my with limited
knowledge i am not able to meet.

I request to all members please help me to fill up this ,i need very much that
system but i cant go to mumbai to pick up that.

Please help me urgently.

can you just get it delivered to a friend or relative nearby (Jamshedpur?) and make a trip to hand-carry it back???

@swpnit, by Form 40A, you mean Waybill, right ? I imported some supplements from BB.com back in 2009 and I had to get the Waybill as FedEx asked me to provide that. That's bcoz the package is huge, they automatically get the idea that it's for commercial purpose. You've to go to the Beleghata Sales Tax Office and get the Form 40A from them. It cost me 2K "unofficially" for 24-25K worth of goods back then in 2009. Officially, will cost you more depending on the price of goods. No need to go through agents, you can do it yourself. You just have to make a trip to their office (3rd or 4th Floor, IICRC) and some officer will approach you with an offer

Why don't you go to the local blue dart office and book the consignment from your end and arrange for a pickup?
Anyway that's what was advised to me by my blue dart guy.
