Dear fellow enthus,
Please let me know the difference between the rega brio -r,the Marantz pm6004 and the naim 5i.I listen to all genres.

Thanks.

Haven't heard either but the naim is roughly three times the cost of the other two! And is reviewed to be one of the finest amps ever...

its easy >>> the naim nait will EAT UP all of 'em, 1st the pm6004. Naims' have well executed PSUs & in spite of its low RMS power, have enuf in them to show any signs of strain.

i dunno abt all genres for Naims but I dont like Naims on classical. I need stuff with more heft & more grace. more delicacy .. :p
i wouldnt buy naim - too many rulez for them; their wires, their connectors, etc. etc. I need more freedom.

more in the lines of Plinius 8100/8150/8200 or Electrocompaniet ECI-2. Maybe a Sugden or YBA (not china ones but older).

Yes there are amps that may better the Naim 5i in western classical, not for the price though. Having owned the Plinius 8100 and 8200 MK2 in the past, the 5i just seems to better them in all ways. Soundstage capabilities are similar though. The new generation Naim is very different.

I use a nait 5i and Im very happy about it. I compared it with Rega Brio-R. Brio-R is a fantastic amp and very musical, even though naim outshines Brio-R is certain aspects, the difference is marginal. They have different sound signature. I would be happy with Brio-R as well for sure.

I never tried Marantz
