Recently I bought the p42v20d.
I like the pic quality. My query here is I like the normal mode of picture setting among Dynamic, cinema, true cinema, prof1 and prof2.

But when power off /on the TV the picture mode is back to Dynamic.
why it cant use the setting when it is powered off. Pls help.
I dont want to change the setting to normal from dynamic everytime I switch on the TV.

Thanks

It must be running in Shop mode. You need to find settings to disable Shop mode to permanently keep the settings as all TVs running in Shop mode switch back to Dynamic mode for shop display purposes.

Not yet, but I am still interested if we could find a good display piece around 30k with full 3 years warranty and keyboard :) Any help you could extend locating the right contact would be greatly appreciated :yahoo:

Srih,

did u check it's usage?..

i saw a 42v20 display piece in chroma, mount road before diwali and it had run close to 950 hrs... the problem was they were running it in dynamic mode with 100% contrast ratio.....

I think That was the one I got !!!. 1000 hrs it is almost a yr old piece. But I did not check the usage to avoid disheartening myself!.
I liked it better than the one was in anna nagar croma.
34k spent Just have to live with it.
But the PQ is excellent as of Now.
No IR problem with screen

You said you see IR of all the channel logos. Does it go completely after few seconds even in completely dark room?

Hey Prankey,

Seeing IR of channel logos after more than an hour of playing a channel is kinda common even on 51D550. But it is hardly visible unless one specifically goes looking for it. But it just goes off in hardly 5 mins of putting scrolling or by changing it to a different channel for about 10 mins and does not have any effect on pq.

It is becoming lesser and lesser now after putting in more than 250 hours usage and i think it will be all but gone in a few more weeks.

At first i was a bit concerned but now i am not as i consider it as a feature of plasmas and it has no adverse impact on pq whatsoever.

Channels more prone to produce IR are
* Sony, setmax and its bouquet of channels (most prone)
* Ndtv, cnnibn and other channels with the tickers
* Sports while watching cricket for more than a couple of hours

There is no problem with most other channels and even with these channels it is faint and hardly even visible but still IR is something which is not 100% gone from a plasma in general.
