hello everyone! good to see so many enthusiasts here. did not know such forum existed but here i am now.

i am an industrial designer and work for Mahindra Navistar. am also a drummer and hence associated with music and hence like to have good gear to listen to good recordings.

currently i run a pair of Nibbana Esika transmission line tower speakers (nibbana audio) from a NAD c320BEE amp and am waiting for my marantz cd6003 player.

as is the speakers amp combo is super awesome. especially the transmission lines. bass is clean and deep without any resonance and mids and highs are transparent and detailed. i am sure with a good CD player things will improve a lot and i cant wait to hear what the speakers would deliver then.

i am not a fan of home theater though. strictly a stereo guy. :)

hope to make some friends here

Welcome to HFV !!!!!

That makes two drummers in the forum d0c_with_attitude plays drums...

Can you post some detailed specs of those speakers with some review ?

Hi Vaibhav
Welcome to the forum

Its very surprising that nothing much is talked about Nibbana audio which is a Mumbai based company

Sure would like to know more about it

Hi Vaibhav,
Welcome to forum!! best wishes from another Pune-ite and ex-synthesizer experimentor, who is a sucker for any sound coming out of a kick-drum... especially if the drums belong to Ian paice :)

Good to know someone at Mumbai is making great speakers. Can you post a brief comparison between Esika and other popular floorstanders from Monitor Audio, Dali, Wharfedale etc.

How much did you pay for Esika, and when was that?

thanks everyone for the warm welcome.

well, i brought esika because of a recomendation from one of my friends who knew the manufacturers personally.

infact they wanted an industrial designer to make the "box" of a speaker look good. hence i visited them and was blown away by what i heard. the speakers on the website are designed by me, well the exteriors. for now they are cad renderings. i think the production of this design will be early next year and maybe the actual photographs will be upgraded then.

as far as sound goes (and i have heard quite a few models but never compared them side by side) all i can say is they sound neutral and very spacious. the only better i have heard are by sonus faber Liuto, but they were also being driven by a cyrus cd player, preamp and poweramp combo.

i have heard nibbana esika through a nad amp(which is good) and a nad cd player at the time of buying. and since then through a cheap samsung dvd player/nad amp combo but even today i feel like going home everyday and keep listening to it. the best part is the deep transmission line bass. some people may not find it as punchy and powerful but i like the heart beat deep sound that is felt more than heard.

i was to buy a marantz cd6003 but has been out of stock since last two months. now i am thinking of buying maveric audio DAC and see what it does to the mix. i am sure i havent heard the best of those speakers yet. i will keep you guys posted.

i brought them an year back when they were being sold for 78,000 a pair. needless to mention i got some discount as i rendered the design services to them.

:) i think musicians and fetish for good audio reproduction goes hand in hand.

also there is nothing like the natural bass from good bass drum. no matter how good the speakers are :D

Hi Vaibhav,

Welcome 2 the Forum:)

It's good 2 know there are 2 drummers on this forum & U can add me as the Keyboardist!

Just spoke to Mr.Satish of Nibbana Audio and he qouted Rs 54K for the Esika Tower Speakers.

He said they weigh 10 kgs each, Do they?

If possible I'll audition them this month.

Regards,

Francis

i think so. they are difficult to move around when i play with their placement.

i dont know satish. i know sanjay as i interacted with him when i designed their website and the new esika towers. but that was almost an year back. i think there is some mistake on the price front. it was 78,000 for a pair of esikas.

I'll check the price again & hopefully it's not what U R saying:D

How much do the Esikas weigh exactly?

My only worry is that my centre is Polk CSi A6, I am not sure if they'll blend with the Polk centre?

i wrote this big post on how i came to know about nibbana when a friends friend contacted me for a project of industrial design of their speakers and how impressed i was with the sound that i ended up buying a pair. that message went for moderation and did not turn up on the forum

i guess it was because it was a long message.
