I have a LG BD550. Find that VCd palyback is not supported. Some research led me to the conclusion that all BD players do not seem to support VCD playback.

Is there any flash ROM or other method to solve this problem?

Your player does not support VCD nor the MPEG-1 format. I don't think you can make any changes to make it play VCDs. A better option will be to buy a cheap DVD player that can play VCD/MPEG-1 container.

Cheers

Hi Quad -
That is good news for all those planning future BD players purchases. I have got round the problem by Purchasing an Onida ATOM DVD player. It has HDMI out & is region free for DVD's. (tested one region 4 on it!). Playback & menu handling etc are good.

So the established brands may not be the way to go till all these region restrictions are in place!
