That was the Microgroove meet, once a month at Zenzi, Bandra, using their DJ SL1200 set-up. It wound up a couple of years back, when Zenzi was shut down.
You do need a sufficiently large venue with a good sound system for this sort of thing.
Dear FMs.
Thanks for the input. Any contact details for the Bandra guys? I would try to contact them. I have come to know that some time back there used to be a Revolver Club in Mahim, that too has almost closed down, mainly due to space problem (so typical of Mumbai). Are any FMs willing to come forward who have some reasonable space and willing to host even once or twice a month sessions? The expenses could be contributory!
The Bandra listening sessions at Zenzi is gone for good. The place has shuttered.
Revolver Club hasn't really spun off (forgive the poor pun), AFAIK. Please check up with Nova Audio. I attended it once. The session was way too basic for me. I guess it is intended for newbies. Further, the artists lined up for the intended curated sessions were not really up my alley.
I went to all the NH7 ones and also visited the Nova Audion one. The Nh7 was pretty nice and the intention was good, but I guess it was not sustainable after Zenzi closed. They are talks with those guys to revive it though.
But yes, they are mostly more about socializing than discussing anything specifically detailed about vinyl or collecting. If there is a meet up i'd be happy to drop by. Hopefully it wont be some place too far, since these days most people have moved away from Town side and everything is happening in the suburbs
Hi
I am from Bandra, there are quite a few guys here with large vinyl collection, (most of them unaware of this forum) if we can have some club where we can listen and maybe exchange records would be great.
Tks
