Hi,

So i recently bought the 50" VU LED Tv (50K160GP).
was trying to get rid of the "soap opera effect" while watching movies but could not find any setting on the TV that would let me do it. LG and Samsung use "TruMotion" or "AutoMotion Plus" that you can turn off but there's nothing i could find in the VU TV settings.
Please let me know if anyone else has managed to fix it.

Thanks.

Hi

Have you gone through the owners manual which would definitely have some solution? I know that manuals are big and cumbersome but they provide the best guidance for optimal use of any product.

Hey,

Yes i have and have also looked up all the sites google threw up. guess will have to speak to the service centre then.
Thanks anyway.

How is the tv? Picture Quality etc?

Hi,

I am also facing the same problem with the VU LED TV that I have bought few days back.

Please let me know if the VU Customer Support was able to resolve this issue.

Thanks.

While researching, I thought of asking Vu support team some questions that I had in my mind. Please see the response below from Vu representative. Just for your information, I was researching for 55'' LED Tv model 55K160

1) Does this model has Game Mode?
Game mode option is available to adjust picture setting.
2) Does this model support HDMI-ARC?
This feature is available in 3D TV 55/65/84
3) Can 100hz motion be turned off from Menu?
- No, it is not available in Home TV
4) What is the cost and period of additional warranty?
10% on invoice value
5) Do Vu has physical service centers or service is call/home based?
We provide onsite service for all Vu TVs.

I have this TV model and facing the Soap Opera Effect problem.
Picture modes available in the menu are 'Standard', 'Mild', 'Dynamic', 'User' and 'Bright'. There is no Game mode in the picture settings.

Did you speak to technical support about this?
Here is the email id of the guy whom I was talking to [email protected]

Also, can you please check with him where the Game mode resides? :)

I have written to Sameer. Meanwhile I have noticed that this TV model has gone Out of Stock on Snapeal, Homeshop18, Amazon, Croma, Tradus

Dear All,

I have recently bought 2 VU 50k160GP led tvs 50 inches, one in July and other in September..

I had the same issue of "Soap opera effect" on my first TV, however the second TV does not have the issue.

The 2nd TV comes with a additional setting of "MEMC" which is disabled by default... when I enable it I see the soap opera effect on this TV as well..

unfortunately the first tv doesnt have that setting and I am unable to disable it.. looks like the second TV has upgraded firmware after it was back in Stock.

I am trying to convince the customer care to updrade the TV firmware of my first TV.. let see how it goes..

I have the same issue of "Soap opera effect" on one of the TVs (bought in July) and there is no option to disable it.
However the 2nd TV(bought in September) doesn't have the issue because it has an additional setting called "MEMC" under display settings which is disabled by default..

If I enable it, I see the same soap opera effect. Unfortunately this setting is not available in the first TV. The 2nd TV has an upgraded firmware version..

I am trying to connect with customer care and ask them if they could upgrade the firmware of my first TV so that I can disable the soap opera effect.

regards
Saurav
