Dear Guys i have been waiting very long time to buy a home theatre for my living room.My budget around 75000 -100000,Please help me in this regard to chose the better setup.

Welcome to the forum. Tell us what is your room size. Do you like floorstanders or Bookshelves speakers? How much movie and music will you listen on your HT set-up.

Audition a good AVR from Denon or Yamaha then build your system piecemeal. Towers and center first then rear or surrounds.

You have a very good budget...Hope it is for both AVR + Speakers...

My living room size is 22x28 and any type speaker is acceptable.i would love to watch movies only...

Since you listening preference is only for movies, consider Sonodyne Avant series of speakers....Will do a very good job for HT...

For movies, you don't need a big speakers...For your living room size, you can easily add 2 subwoofers of modest price rather than getting just one for a very high price...

Sonodyne Avant 150 BS x 4 Pieces + Avant LCR 250 willl be approx 50K...

Add two subwoofers in the price range of 15K each, it can shake your room...

Regarding AVR, never buy an uptodate AVR (or) the latest ones...You will never get discounts... Look for 1 - 2 years old models where you can get good discounts....

Onkyo/Yamaha/Denon/Marantz/Pioneer are the brands to look for...Based on the HDMI inputs, decide you AVR...

perfectly said
for cinema only dont invest on fs..
bs will do..
invest on costly centre and costly sub...

avant centre is fantastic...another fanastic budget centre is polk csi A6 ...
one thing keep in mind you have big room..so powerful avr is needed..
any less than denon 2113 or other brand cousins..wont be good imho

imho...buy avr, centre, sub now...otherwise you will be forced to buy compromoised products than your room and need..
get bs/fs and rear dipoles later
trust me from proper source(mandatory)..a solid centre and a solid sub is quite enough for a cinema only purpose

Thank you all for the help,Please suggest me the best avr and Sub woofer that compliments avant series speakers.

Personally I'm using ONKYO 609 with wharfedale diamond 9.6 and I'm satisfied with the Front Left and Right. I'm not using SUB(wharfedale diamond SW150) as the front speaker is really doing a great job. Also having a powerful front is required which also dubs as 2SUBs than using a single SUB, if you can afford 2SUBs with a big living room(300Sq.feet), then its fine. You can also complement with Bi-amping which will help for music.

Also, you have to get a speaker based on your listening choice, some people like deep BASS and depth and some will like clarity, both doesn't coexist. When it comes to AVR for speaker, your AVR should have less rating than the speaker. I mean AVR can be 160W per channel and speaker can be 200W per channel. 8ohms speaker is good. use 12gauge wire for front and 14gauge wire for rest, SUB will have its own wiring. Keep SUB in the corner, SUB can be down firing too. All speakers with rear ports and SUB should have min0.5feet clearance in all directions. Place SUB only in floor and not on table or stool.

Dipole on the rear will work only when you are in a corner of a big living room, else it will create distortion. Do a good audition before you decide. Here satisfaction is must, I started with Wharfedale Vardus 400 for front and ended up in buying Diamond 9.6 as I'm satisfied with the output. I have done 2times audition with the same speaker. Take a original audio CD with you with the song familiar to you.

When it comes to AVR, an AVR is at its best, reproduce the original audio without any signal processing like 'Direct' or 'Pure' mode. Buy an AVR with USB port, of course it helps. ONKYO is good for movies, I also heard that Yamaha is good. But do a audition.

would not suggest Yamaha speakers. Yamaha is ok for AVR but not for speakers. Also, anything you buy please ensure you listen to them well.

I would suggest you to start a new thread with your requirements so that fellow FMs will chip in with valuable suggestions.

Please do not haste..........listen to as many demos as possible and then decide. Just because someone is referring a certain brand does not mean you have to buy that blindly. You should listen to them yourself and then decide.

Let's make it easier for you:

AVR : Denon / Yamaha / Onkyo
Speakers : Polk Audio / Wharfedale / Sonodyne / Paradigm / Tannoy, etc...........

FS or BS is your choice, please hear them both. GO for FS only if you want to invest 40k and above. For anything less than tha suggest to go with BS............they will be of superior performance than any cheap entry level FS. IF you have good FS you can skip the subwoofer for now and get one later thereby spending the money instead of really good towers.

What is also important is matching the AVR to the speaker. So every speaker will sound different when paired with different AVRs. Keep that in mind.

Everything discussed here are all guidelines to assist you, however in the end it is you who must decide.

It will take a while to find your dream system, but the time spent is well worth the effort.
All the best!!!

I have a pair of Wharfedale Diamond 10.7 for sale which can work well as front speakers. If possible try to audition them too with your chosen AVR.

Guys, Nowhere i am seeing KEF?
I thought KEF has good reviews for movies.!
Is it KEF is lower than Polk /Wharfedale/ Paradigm ?
