Hi - sorry for a stupid question. Are there any washing machines that can dry as dry as a dryer dries?

I do not have space to keep a machine and a dryer, so a machine that does both is of great value.

If you want 100% dry, go for Siemens washer/drier. In LG washer/drier, thick cotton clothes need to be aired for about 30 minutes to be fully dry even after the dry cycle.

There is considerable cost difference between the two - so decide based on upon your budget and need.

Most front loading washing machines do a fairly good drying job. They do not dry fully but remove most of the excess water, so when you dry it in the shade, it doesnt take as much time. Besides drying in the shade is friendlier to the environment ;)

all front fully automatics do dry.......
go for ifb.best.although they have a bad reputaion fro poor service in some particuler places......you wont need servicing as thy are so robust.
well thats my idea.

thanks guys. The problem is quite severe during winters. Compounded by monkeys. However, it drying is needed only during winter months. For other months we dry it in shade even inside the house.

If space is not a issue you can also go in for a separate dryer, although the choices are limited to IFB,BOSCH and llyod.

If you buy a washer+drier (combined), the load capacity must be half when using the two functions together. So if the load capacity is 5 kg for washing only, then it will 2.5 kg for washing and drying together. Driers consume a lot of electricity.

Other than that the drier in w+d is as good as an independent.

Only higher end models completely dry the clothes.
My IFB Elena only spin dries, no hot-air drying. My experience with IFB has not been good. Demands too much maintenance. During last 9 years, motor, timer, belt (multiple times) etc have been replaced, all of which were covered under AMC contract (paid Rs 3K for every 2 years).

If you have vertical space, then consider IFB front loading washer + IFB dryer. You can place the dryer upside down on top of the washer.

Mate.....you can also try BOSCH now....they have recently launched their washing machine range....incidentally IFB earlier had a collaboration with them and the entire technology was from Bosch...

Anm,

The best solution be it winters or rainy season and otherwise also in general, go for a washing machine cum dryer (100%) and you will realize sooner then later such machines are probably the best. There are machines which can easily take 11.5kg for cleaning as well as drying, with such brilliant capacity one need not clean the clothes daily.

The electric city usage for dryers may not be a issue because as it is we use water heaters, air condition's and other high power consumption items on day to day basis. While the benefit of dryer is so huge that the electricity charges may not be a issue to be thought upon.
