What amplfier should I get

I am not exactly and audiophile but I do appreciate decent sound. So I bought some Pioneer SP-FS52-LR Andrew Jones speakers because they were supposedly unbeatable in that price range. I am trying to connect them to my PC. Right now I am using a Lapai LP-2020A and want a real 5-7 channel amplifier to watch movies and play games. However, the cheapest one I see is the emotiva upa-5. Iis that overkill for my setup and are there cheaper ones that aren't a crappy lapai 10wX5 amplifiers?

Also, I have a Xonar DX sound card and was wondering what happens if I connect its output directly to an amplifier without a preamp?
