Hi All,

does any one has info / tips on when is the smart tv series OR the D series expected to launch in india.

sine US prices and india prices can not be compared.

cheers,
nu

Official date is 15th April. However this might take another week to actually come to showrooms and delivery. Also, Sony will be launching their 2011 models (HX820, 920) starting May.

I am also eagerly waiting for the launch.

thats quiet early of a display .. since samsung US dint launch D5000 series at all ..

and i wonder, what will a D6400 cost then ... atleast a whooping 1.5L

cheers,
tecmec

I see hoarding today on my way to office for Samsung D8000 in Jublihills, Hyderabad.
I guess they just released.

I got the price quotes just yesterday from samsung. 55d8000 is for 2.3lakhs, offer price is though 2.1lakhs. Apparently, d7000 is only being lanched with 46in or lower model! Price for d7000 46in is 1.5lakhs. So samsung has gone for premium pricing !!

Looks like LG India will do better this year..
Those exorbitant prices are not acceptable..

Well its not just in india even in the USA ,the samsung prices are high.

Infact the flagship edge-lit local dimming D8000 is more expensive then even Sony flagship HX920/3 which has a full LED backlight local dimming and a advanced image processing.

I was just checking the specs for D5000 and it includes Clear Motion Rate 100. Does anyone know what this means? Is it the same as backlight scanning used by LG in the past or is there any frame interpolation involved?

samsung turns out to be disappointing with the D series prices..

I was also quoted 1.53L for D7000 46"

I hear they have two models in 6 series, 6000 and 6600 .. wish i would have got some spec and price details for these models, so that i can compare these to c6900..

else looks like i wil have to finally end the wait and buy c6900 over weekend..

guys do you suggest buying c6900 and investing remaining money on a good HT ?

cheers,
tecmec

Hi tecmec,

6900 seems to be a good option considering 7 and 8 series prices for 2011 models. However. in case you are interested in 3D, the specs for 6900 doesnt look that good considering the refresh rate. Means you may have the same problem of ghosting similar to last year 7/8 series models for 3d.

However, as of now best option seems to be patient and wait for all the models to come to showrooms and check them in person.

BTW, C series models could be another option (7 & 8) as those will become cheaper after D series launch.

hi, can you find out the 6 series model being released and prices for 46"

also can you please share the dealer / company name and contact details.

thansk,
tecmec

The D6000 is around 1.05 and the 6600 is around 1.25: unfortunately no one seems to have stocks, though they promise to get once you pay an "advance".

Same with the LG - the LG show rooms have some models but no details.

Would anyone know the power consumption on the LG PZ50 ?

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
