Unless the power goes. Then its audible - beeps. Gives you enough of a warning to shutdown your NAS.

I don't own this but BR1000G-IN, so not sure about the Fan. However, as per the datasheet, it doesn't look like this unit has a FAN. But it's worth confirming probably from the APC forum since it will be the next to your system and any noise will be annoying.
