Hi Guys
I will be going to Singapore next month.
I wanted to purchase a Blu-ray player.

Could any of you please suggest a good player which is region free and where can i get it in Singapore?

Thanks

I bought the LG BD550 for a great price from Singapore recently (INR 6500), and am very happy with it. If you can get a LAN cable to the player and don't need DLNA, it is a great and highly usable BD player. It has great usability, supports most media formats, and is very fast while playing files off my external hard drive. If you want a no-nonsense BD player, I can highly recommend it.

BTW the one feature I would have loved is DVD upscaling, but apparently only very high-end players do that.

Mass market items like low/ mid range bdps may not give you best saving. I would suggest you to buy iphone, laptop, amps, cdp, turn table, speakers etc from Singapore.

Thanks for the reply guys
Also please let me know what best can i buy from there at cheaper rates then india.

Thanks

Now the situation is worst in singapore....On my research AVR is cheaper in Singapore(only comparing to indian prices) + Laptops( we could save little bit) and nothing is cheaper in audio/Video products... :ohyeah:Low end camera is costlier in Singapore than India:ohyeah:Small size TV's are lesser by 2k and higher size depends on the model.

Dubai prices were better than Singapore + you get 1 year International warranty(anywhere u buy in GCC countries) which you don't get in Singapore

No it is locked to Region A for Blue Ray and Region 1 for DVD but I believe third party mods are available for making region free for DVD and Blue Ray Playback. As this is a new player introduced only in December so the availability of the mods will take some time.
