Which Internet Connection are you using ??

Whats the FUP limit now.

Regarding Fair Usage Policy, I guess the limit is 80gb per month.

BSNL on the other hand gives you whatever speed they say. If it is 256, you will get 256 all the time.
Cheers

Been a happy customer of BSNL even when I was getting 256, but this has been upgraded to 512 without any cost:yahoo::yahoo:. I am on the unlimited 750 plan.

Cheers!

Yes..it's less than Rs 900 for 1mbps unlimited.

I got freaked out after reading this and checked with Airtel customer care. Your plan has a cap of 15GB for 1Mbps speed. After that the speed changes to 256Kbps.

I have the true unlimited 1Mbps plan which costs Rs.1699 + taxes per month. Even in this plan the limit is 100Gb, after which the speed comes down to 512Kbps.

The Airtel "Impatience" plans are all 4Mb, but priced according to where you want the full-speed "cap" to be.

Good idea. Wish I could get it. They tell me maybe 3 months.

Thanks for that! Now I understand it better :)

I have Impatience plan 4mbps unlimited and the speed upto 20gb download is 4Mbps and the speed will reduced to 256Kpbs after the 20gb. It is good..

I get paid for using this

Now I am very puzzled.

If Manchester is 50 miles away from Chennai, then British Airways have been seriously ripping me off for the past several years!

I just got this. Very quick installation indeed. Asked for it one day and the connection was installed and working the next. Sweet surprise.

25 GB download limit seems good enough to start with. Lets see.

If it does not work, I might look at going for the Turbo plan which offers 100 GB download. But the thought of downloading 100 GB in a month scares me - there is no way that I am going to be able to manage and prune the unwanted data regularly. Very bad at that.

I am having a BSNL 256Kbps Home Unlimited plan at Rs 750/- per month but few days back the speed has increased to 512Kbps. Is it forever ?:yahoo:

Thanks for that information. I did not know that. But my internet usage is limited so that will be fine:)

used beam cable for 2 long years.. yes service goes down atleast 2-3 times in a month for sometimes hrs to a day.. downloaded 5 TB of data

got new airtel 2 days back..512kbps unlimited for 499 and 200 rs calls free to airtel network... but i came to knew cap of 5 gig and then 256kbps..

i still miss beam cable..

Thanks for informing me that getting impatient can result in huge download speeds. I think I will move to it after a couple of months. Didn't know this existed.

Cheers

In 4 years, Airtel has never gone down on me for a non-local ( happened to be wiring) fault!! I get SMS hours in advance of any planned outage between 1am to 5am :)

Its like a business connection but with less upload speed.

Cheers

My office VPN thru my 1mbps connection appears to be faster than without VPN!!

I would have thought the vpn would reduce thruput drastically due to smaller payload size!! Maybe its just a fluke. Below is a pic of my VPN-less test :)

The sppedtest also shows that my new NetGear WNDR3700 is performing beautifully in 5ghz band. Have to test local file transfer for 300mbps though :)

Cheers
