Hi all

5.Samsung
6.LG
7.Philips
8.Others

Reliability indirectly should also include 'after sales service'. That being so, it is only LG which lends an ear to the complaints raised. Have taken note of it time and again. As a company, LG excels in it. The product may not be the absolute best, but, the support is always present, when required. That is a big thing!

I second to that ....LG - company who delivers LESS but delivers completely. Also no "panel lottery " kind of gamble.

I too completely agree. I have a LG CRT 29" TV for a decade now. No issues. For the same time period have a LG washing m/c which has had one service visit for all these years. AFAIK, they are the best in customer service.

I AGREE 101 TIMES

PATHETIC ................ if anything goes wrong, Heaven help you.

I was told that in Kochi, it will be difficult to get service of panasonic out side the city. My location is some 40 KMs outside the city. Comments / experience of other members especially from Kochi area is invited. Also advise me the chances of service requirements for panasonic plasma.

Last week I bought an induction cooker, which failed and replaced the next day of purchase. So in case of any electronic /electrical equipment, the chances of failure are there.

Few years back i brought LG tv but after testing home i fill that the sound is not attractive.I asked dealier to take it back

Surprice surprice he took it back .

After that i brought atleast 10 items of LG ,very happy with the qualty and cervice

I got contra expirince in samsung, i always sajjest my frends not to go for samsung( even though the quality is ok)
I don't prefar sony because of high cost and limitation of the models ( they are not in all the products like micro ,vaccum cliner etc)

I have home theater DZ 100 but have no usb port ,it cost me 15000 at 2004

( i think we should add most relibale 3d tv as sub part )

Do not buy Panansonic. I purchased a 50" Panasonic Plasma TV, model TH50PZ85U for $2500.00 back in March 2008. Recently my TV would not turn on, all I get are 10 blinking red lights coming from the power display. I did a search on the internet and to my suprise, there is a very large community of people having the very same issue with their TV's and apparently it is too costly to repair (over $500.00, with three boards needing replacement plus the power supply). Panasonic customer support knows there is a problem with these TV's but there reply is "It's out of warranty". Search the internet, you will see most people had their TV go bad right after the first year when the warranty expired.

When I purchased my TV, I was expecting it to last at least 10 years. My TV lasted a little over 3 years. $2500.00 down the drain for 3 years of use. I don't abuse my TV, keep it clean, and have hooked up to an APC power conditioner.

By the way, I own other Panasonic products (TM 700 Camcorder and ZS7 digital camera). I purchased these because I believed in this company. I have lost confidence in this company after getting burned out of so much money.

You are going to see people post how great their Panasonic TV is, and I will agree that the picture quality is superb, but for how long? Are you willing to pay your hard earned money for 1 to 3 years of use? This thread is about reliabilty, not how good your TV looks.

I don't think I'm going to repair this TV. The way I see it. I will repair a TV with parts that will probably fail in a year or two. I will cut my losses and look for another brand of TV. This time I will research a little more on RELIABILITY.

Reliability of hardware then it is Sony & Panasonic. But in case of problems you have run behind service center and technicians.

In case of LG & Samsung they wont trouble you with repair they rather replace it if you want them to do so.

I have used Philips CRT for 16-years, Sony CRT for 6 Years and Sony LCD for over an year now. They are extremely reliable with totally unreliable power supply in my area.( Read 75 V line supply in night which can vary between 130-170 during day).

However My experience with Samsung ( 29-inch CRT) and Panasonic( 21 inch CRT) were pathetic, in terms of customer support and product reliability.

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
