I'm afraid its Samsung going by sales numbers in overall consumer electronics and Sony when it comes to Flat panel TVs alone.

Why is nobody talking about AMC? As far as I know LG is the only company offering it. Just pay the AMC and get comprehensive coverage for the unit (post warranty). No other company seems to have this kind of confidence in their products to offer an AMC.

Even during warranty, I find LG to be more customer oriented than all the other brands mentioned.

^Panasonic already offers 3 years standard warranty and Sony gives a optional 1+2 year extra warranty,i don't see these being any different from LG AMC.

Will ....... ok, should happen, but only after, well ..... having 'your pound of flesh'. You must have encountered quite a bit to have reached this stage of 'approval'. Hope for the best.

Very difficult to say which TV brand is reliable as most of them are not Made in Japan anymore........except few panels........

Japanese product quality of the 70s and 80s will never come back.........now its use and throw....

Compare the built quality of old VHS recorder with a standard DVD player of 2011.

So as the old one says for Electronics

Made in Germany : Use it for Life
Made in Japan : Use and throw
Made in China : If your luck strikes it will probably work
Made in Korea : Use it until the product dies
Made in India : Depends on which brand you chose

TV was replaced today. And no I didnt even sweat forget about flesh!

Have a 25 year old onida 21inch TV(cost 13.5k) which has never required repair so far(sparingly used for the last 5 yrs).
The second TV also an onida, 25 inch model that cost a whopping 29k back then , has lasted 16years and is still doing duty.
Samsung TV 21 inch purchased for 6k running fine for 4 yrs now
Got a toshiba LED 24 inch 2 months back..had some problems regarding USB playback, repaired under warranty.

I have a LG crt tv since 12 years. It is working fine till now without any problem.
So as far as crt is concerned I can boldly tell LG is very good in reliability.
And i have a goldstar(goldstar is earlier name for LUCKY GOLDSTAR i.e LG) in my granny's house working since 20 years.
