There is no one correct answer for your question. It depends on the particular model, not on the company. In terms of After Sales Service, it is generally acknowledged to be LG, Samsung and then Sony (close fight between Samsung and Sony i.e. they are equally bad)

You should also have a look at Sharp models which are very good in PQ but they are not well marketed and distributed in India...

Sharp models that i have seen thus far has the worst image processing compared to the top manufactures like samsung/sony, lg and panasonic.

Their low end panels have poorer contrast compared to samsung/sony and their panels also have narrower viewing angle compared to VA based panel used in samsung/sony and the IPS in lg/panasonic.

You can check put the samsung 40" D5500 it is a smart series LED-lcd (lacks a web browser) Or settle for the cheaper 40D550 lcd .

If you want a SPVA panel guranteed then go with the Sony 40EX520 led-lcd or 40CX520 lcd both are smart tvs ,however they don't support MKV videos and doesn't support NTFS formatted HDD.

Samsung would be my choice having owned Samsungs for a long time.
Have bought 3 Tvs from them in the last 5 years to be used at seperate places.
The Latest being a 46 inch 3d LED. I found them to be really awesome in producing rich colours and contrast.
Slightly artificial but adds to the movies and gaming experience.

But thats just my opinion.

samsung has 6030 series which they are claiming as full led back lit 3D TV....with micro dimming (not local dimming)

sony latest introduction is HX 750 series with Dynamic Edge Led with Frame Dimming-
and
1129:1 contrast ratio - which is best in this category
3d - not in full HD (only 720p)

Don't buy a Smart TV as they tend to override some basic assumptions during TV watching. Eg., I have seen people having issues streaming content to the TV due to resolution mismatch that the TV incorrectly assumed. The same content was successfully viewed on a PC. A better way out is to buy a STB that can be controlled and upgraded depending on your viewing habits. Its much cheaper than upgrading a TV since what is Smart now will become common place in few years.

Side node - get off the SMS language in your posts.

Smart TV is a lot of hype and crap. The fancy does not last more than a couple of months. My TV is just two months old and I have not used any smart app. I did not buy my TV for smart apps but for picture quality. And that should be everyone's aim too.

Between LG, Samsung and Sony, I would rate Sony best in terms of quality (by a thin edge). Samsung and LG are not behind (LG being 3rd). It is more like a photo finish in a race. When it comes to service, I think that LG holds the edge, once again by a small margin. Sony will be third here.

When it comes to pricing, Samsung and LG are more flexible on pricing while Sony is very stiff.

I have a Samsung Series 5 46" LCD Tv which I purchased back in 2009, it was HORRIBLE, after just one year (conveniently, just around the time when my warranty expired), the TV started showing display problems just then, half of the screen would go black & keep flickering for sometime. I called the service center guy & they told me it would need a panel replacement. Apart from that they have crappy build quality for their power board, which in my case had a capacitor blown once as well.

Mind you I am not an isolated incident, my brother also got a Samsung 32" Series 4 LCD from Dubai & that had the same display problem on Day 1 (luckily he got it replaced).
I have never owned a Sony Tv, but my friends do & none of them had any problems with theirs since the last 5 years or so. So I would recommend Sony.
No idea about LG though.

Congo on your new purchase of your samsung 3D led but I just wanted to know about the glasses used with it as samsung uses active tech in their 3D TVs which are said to have health issues with them and also there is also a question on the picture quality delivered by active sets.
